Church Faults Christ’s Birth Date …Says He Was Born In October

God’s Kingdom Society also known as the Church of the Living God, has faulted December 25 celebrated across the globe every year as the date of the birth of Jesus Christ, saying, October is rather the actual month of the Redeemer’s birth.
The church which made this disclosure during its Freedom Day Divine Service in Port Harcourt yesterday said the Freedom Day celebration of the church was the commemoration of the Redeemer’s birth.
To this end, the church lined up series of programmes including cultural and group performances and musical renditions to commemorate the birthday anniversary of Jesus Christ in what it described as the Christmas Day.
Addressing the congregation on the topic, ‘The Grace of God’, the President of the church, Bro Godwin Ifeacho, while quoting copiously from the Bible, said Christ was not born on December 25 but that he was rather born in October.
To buttress the church’s position, Ifeacho said, “God’s Kingdom Society does not believe that Christ was born on Christmas Day. Christmas Day is a pagan celebration that was practised in those days and it was the Roman Emperor that decided that December 25 should be called Christmas Day which is a day to celebrate Christ but was not the actual day Christ was born”.
According to him, “ the first month of the Jews is April, the month that the Angel of the Lord visited Mary after six months of visiting Elizabeth. This is in accordance with the revelation made to our founder, Saint G.M. Urhobo”.
He further indicated that Elizabeth gave birth to John in the month of April and by January, when Mary visited her cousin, Elizabeth; she was already three months pregnant.
“And counting from January to September, which is nine months, in October, our Lord Jesus Christ was born”, he said.
To commemorate the President’s argument, the officiating Minister and the Station Minister of the church, Rivers State Zone, Bro Theophilus Iwoh said in an interview with newsmen that “December 25 is a notorious day in history which the Romans did a pagan celebration and it is not the birth of Christ. God Almighty revealed the truth via the Scriptures, citing the record of John the Baptist. So, we can trace that Jesus Christ was born in October”.
He further indicated that Christians are ignorant of the fact that Jesus was not born on December 25, contending that “ Jesus Himself said it is the truth that would set us free and to correct such, we have to propagate the truth. Though there is no certain date in the month of October but Jesus was born in October”.
He therefore admonished the people of the world, particularly Christians to listen to the messages of God’s Kingdom Society.
“Read the Scriptures and tell the world that December 25 should not be celebrated. Christmas celebration is Paganism,” he said.
“God should open the hearts of people, reveal the truth to them and enlighten them. Christmas celebration is out of ignorance. Christians should propagate the birth of Christ. Therefore, God’s Kingdom Society has decided to enlighten people about this via the church preachings, teachings backed up with the Scriptures, media publications and social media platforms,” he said.
