Security Trust Fund Bill Scales First Reading

Reconvening two weeks after holding valedictory for Hon. Igobo, the State House of Assembly last Thursday reconstituted its standing committees.
Numbering over 25, the standing committees are to oversight the various sectors, ministries and parastatals of government.
Some chairmen of committees in the 8th Assembly retained their former status. Hon. Major Jack retained his chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee. Hon. Evans Bipi, who is also Chief Whip retained his chairmanship of Public Complaints and Petitions.
Also, Hon. Nathaniel Uwaji maintained his status as House chairman on Commissions and Agencies, while Hon. Michael Chinda retained hischairmanship position for House Committee on Works.
Hon. Enemi George Alabo was announced as the new House Committee chairman on Information and Training.
Subsequently, new private member bill by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani christened Security Trust Fund Bill 2019 passed the first reading on the floor of the House.
The bill was mentioned by Majority Leader, Hon. Martins Amaewhule on behalf of the Speaker.
The objective of the Trust Fund Bill shall be to manage money for the acquisition and deployment of security equipment together with human, material and financial resources.
The trust fund, Amaewhule submitted shall also act as a depository of all monies received under the law.
Last weekend, Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ehie Edison took his heart throb, Miss Obuzor to the altar. The wedding was witnessed by political big wigs, including the Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike and Amanyanabo of Grand Bonny, King , Edward Asimini Dappa Pepple.
