Ogoni Killings: Don’t Return To Community, Monarch Tells Residents

Worried by renewed attacks by unknown gunmen in his domain, Paramount Ruler of Taabaa Community in Khana Local Government of Rivers State, Kabari Nule, has advised residents who fled the area not to return until peace returns there.
It would be recalled that gunmen suspected to be cultists invaded Taabaa last Sunday killing one person, just after a fortnight when a similar attack claimed about nine lives.
The Tide had reported that residents of Taabaa, Okwala Communities and Nyokuru Community, all in Nyokhana district in Khana LGA of Rivers State.had deserted their homes at the wake of the gunmen attacks.
Nule, who spoke on telephone from his hideout, said the gunmen returned to the community on Sunday night and shot two persons, saying one of the victims passed on Monday morning while the other victim is in a critical condition.
The monarch solicited for more security presence in the community.
“Last night two people were shot in my community. One Barinemenu, I have forgotten the name of the other person. But Barinemenu is dead now. Normalcy has not returned because the killing is still going on.
“They cannot return because me, I am not in the community. If I am not in the community what will be theirfaith? “We need a security base here,” HRH Kabari Nule demanded.
