Party Stalwarts Converge At PDP Chairman’s Wedding
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs Ipalibo Harry Banigo, was among dignitaries as Mother of the Day at the wedding reception ceremony of the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Degema Local Government Area, Chief Tonye Abobara Tyger and his bride, Bagshawba Tonye Tyger.
The event took place last Saturday in Port Harcourt at the Asia Town Life Style event centre, along Forces Avenue with important personalities witnessing the event.
Some notable dignitaries at the reception were the Chief of Staff, Government House, Chief Emeka Woke, Managing Director, Rivers State Micro Finance Agency, Dr. Ipalibo W.Sogules, HRH, Chief Gason Tyger, Amakoro (v) who is the elder brother of the groom; Member, Representing Delga in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Soberekon, Chairman, Degema Local Government Council, Dr Tony Philmoore; former Commissioner of Energy and Natural Resources, Hon. Damiete Herbert Miller; former council chairmen, Ward chairmen of PDP and a host of others.
Giving his charge, the chairman of the occasion, Hon.Pleasant Braide, an erstwhile council chairman of DELGA and commissioner in the State Local Government Service Commission, noted that tolerance is foundational in the sustenance of marriage.
He advised the couple to nurture their union in love, insisting that God has already caused the joining and advised no one to put asunder.
The groom in his vote of thanks ascribed the success of the event to God’s love and benevolence upon him and thanked all those who contributed to the success of the ceremony.
He also expressed joy over the tumultuous crowd that attended the event, stating that the show of love by the people has rather humbled him. He wished intending couples successful marriages
Earlier in the day,officials of the Degema Marriage Registry administered the marriage oath and conducted the supervision of exchange of vows and rings between the couple at their residence in Port Harcourt in the presence of family members, friends, well wishers and politicians.
