Organisation Donates Materials To Port Harcourt Prison
The Adventist men organisation of the Port Harcourt Conference of SeventhDay Adventist Church has donated food items, toiletries, soaps and clothings worth thousands of naira to the inmates of the Port Harcourt Maximum Prison.
The Conference President, Pastor Anyalebechi Nnunukwe told newsmen shortly after the donation ceremony that the gesture was in line with Biblical Doctrine of reaching out to the less privileged in the society.
Pastor Nnunukwe who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the Port Harcourt Conference of the church, Pastor Nation Amadi Nation said that the gesture was to encourage and comfort the prisoners as well as show them the love of God.
He said that apart from regular visits to the prison, the organisation has also reached out to other less privileged homes in the State, such as the Remand Home, the Home for the Elderly and Chesire Home.
The conference President also said that the church will not relent in its obligation to the society.
