Large Turnout Greets Maiden Inter-Club Boxing Challenge

Young boxers turned out in huge numbers for the maiden Lagos State Inter-Club Challenge sponsored by Adewunmi Ogunsanya (SAN), chairman, GOtv Boxing and Patron, Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C).
Tidesports source gathered that the tournament which began on August 20, and ends, today, is holding at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos.
Organised by the Lagos State Sports Commission in conjunction with the Lagos State Boxing Association, the tournament has the objective of discovering young and talented boxers.
These boxers will represent Lagos State at the 20th National Sports Festival (NSF) scheduled to hold in Edo in April.
Expected to feature over the three-day duration of the challenge are 150 males and females from boxing clubs affiliated to the Lagos State Boxing Association.
The bouts are across 10 weight divisions.
Flykite Productions, promoters of GOtv Boxing Night said that Ogunsanya decided to sponsor the challenge in appreciation of the significance of the amateur cadre.
Trophies will be awarded to the best boxers in the male and female categories at the end of the tournament, while every participant will be awarded certificate of participation.
