Foundation Promises To Develop Ekpeye Nation …Offers 21 Students Schoolarships

The Chairman of Uzodhu Michael Foundation, Prince Uzodhu Michael has expressed commitment to the development of Ekpeye ethnic nationality through education.
Speaking at a scholarship award ceremony in Idoke Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State last Saturday, the London-based philanthropist said he would continue to commit his little resources to help make a future for the next generation of Ekpeye people.
While advising the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity the foundation has offered them, he assured that the scholarship would be an annual event.
In his speech, the Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon. Ben Eke expressed gratitude to the chairman of the foundation for the uncommon gesture.
He said the council would partner with the foundation and stressed that the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike is passionate about education and therefore, the council would always provide schools in the area with learning materials.
He promised to, on his personal capacity, assist the foundation with the sum of N100, 000 monthly from September to December, 2019.
While blessing the ceremony, the Royal Father of the day, Eze Dr. Felix Otuwarikpo, Eze Upata III, who was represented by Eze Clifford Shika, Nye Udu Owu Upata, commended the chairman of the foundation for the gesture.
He advised lovers of Ekpeye to emulate same. and promised to always support the foundation when called upon.
The first class traditional ruler advised parents to always train their children in the fear of God to guarantee a safer society.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Dulu Apah lauded the initiative, promising to assist in his little way as a father.
He used the medium to call on Ekpeye youths to domesticate marriage, stressing that “it will foster peace and unity when you marry from your own tribe.”
He said no modern society can grow without investing in education and promised to support the foundation with the sum of N100,000 monthly.
Expressing his joy, the father of the young philanthropist, who doubles as the monarch of the Akpana Upata clan, Eze (Sir) Nnodi Michael said he would always stand by his son, especially at this time he is giving back to the society. and indicated that he was certain the Prince will deliver on the task he had undertaken.
