Ekevwo, Itsekiri Through To Men’s 100m Final In Morocco

The duo of Raymond Ekevwo and Usheoritse Itsekiri on Monday advanced into yesterdays final of the men’s 100 metres event of the 2019 African Games in Rabat.
They will run alongside Ghana’s duo of Sean Safo-Antwi and Josep Amoah, Ebrahima Camaraderie of The Gambia, Gue Cisse of Côte d’Ivoire.
South Africa’s pair of Chederick Van Wyk and Thandolwenkosi Dlodlo will also be in the running for the men’s sprint title at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
Tidesports source gathered that Ekevwo had qualified after winning heat 3 of the semi-finals with a time of 10.26 seconds.
Earlier in the day he had also won heat 5 of the first round with 10.20 secs.
On his part, Itsekiri had won the smi-finals’ heat 2 with 10.25, and the first round’s heat 4 with 10.27.
Teammate Adeleye Ogunlewe was however not as fortunate as the pair of Ekevwo and Itsekiri, as he crashed out in the semi-finals after finishing fourth with 10.45 in heat 1.
He had earlier in the day won heat 3 of the first round with 10.36.
