The closing ceremony of Holiday Sports programme, holding at Port Harcourt Air Force Base, organised by Fair Cottage Empowerment Initiative (FCEI), will hold tomorrow.
The Coordinator of FCEI, Judith Obomanu-Asisi, said the turn out of this year’s programme was impressive, saying that the rains actually delayed training sessions for the first two days.
Obomanu-Asisi, said this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, yesterday in Port Harcourt, saying that the training had exposed children to many sports.
“I can say that all the children that participated in the programme have known how to do one sport”, Obomanu-Asisi said.
According to her, the holiday sports programme “Catch them young was a huge success and encouraging,’’.
She commended the chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Eke, for sponsoring children in his area to participate.
The coordinator also used the forum to appeal corporate organisations and well-meaning Nigerians to sponsor the programme, saying that sports development is a collective responsibility.
