Biometrics: SEEFOR Donates 40 Computers, Others To RSG

The State Employment and Expenditure for Results Project (SEEFOR) has donated various makes of computers and other hardware equipment to the Rivers State Government for effective biometrics exercise and data processing in the state.
The equipment were officially handed over to the Office of the Head of Service by the SEEFOR Project Coordinator, Mr Kelcious Amos in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Presenting the items, Amos said the hardware was part of the World Bank support to the government for smooth and transparent data processing in the state.
According to him, over 20 high-end laptops, 20 all-in-one desktop machines and two HP servers fully installed were among the equipment donated.
Amos assured the state government of the projects’ support to train staff of the state government on how to use the computers effectively.
“We gathered here to handover some hardware’s equipment to the Rivers States office of the Head of Service for biometrics and data acquisition.
“We are also ready to support them in the area of installation and the technical aspect of the equipment.
“As part of our support, we are prepared to train staff in the civil service and the end users on how to use the system, because these system are not like ordinary computers, they use to know easily”, Amos assured.
Also speaking, the SEEFOR Data Centre Manager, in charge of ICT Infrastructure, Mr Austin Dimkpa, said the computers were the latest models of hardware system that can effectively make data capturing easier.
