RIWAMA Gives 48-Hour Deadline To Three Service Providers

The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to three service providers who are yet to rid their operational zones of dirt to deliver on contractual obligations or have their contracts terminated.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the RIWAMA Boss, Jerry Needam, yesterday, quoted Obuah as listing the affected service providers as, “Mankoche Ventures Nig. Ltd, covering Oyigbo Road on the left; Ibexco Nig. Ltd, covering Oyigbo Road on the right; and Emmachearc Global, covering Eneka, Igwuruta Road and Oroigwe axis”.
Obuah, who issued the 48-hour ultimatum during his early morning monitoring of roads in Port Harcourt and its environs, yesterday, said the deadline given to the contractors was necessitated by heaps of refuse currently dotting the affected zones.
He said the agency could no longer condone laxity on the part of service providers, who would not take their jobs seriously.
The sole administrator regretted that the action of non-performing service providers amounted to sabotage to the efforts of Governor Nyesom Wike, who was doing everything possible to ensure a cleaner Rivers State.
Obuah also warned all service providers doing business with the agency to be alive to their responsibilities, adding that RIWAMA would not relent in its resolve to sustain the Garden City status of the state.
