Activities in the Rivers State House of Assembly remained on busy note last week with two public sittings and presentation of certificates of returns to 32 Assembly members.
Last Tuesday, 32 members of Assembly received their certificate of return alongside the governor.
This follows the conclusion of the guber and Assembly elections, which the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) won overwhelmingly.
Shortly after receiving their certificate of return, House members in House Committee for Environment presided over by Chairman of the committee, Hon. Christian Ahiakwo conducted a public hearing for new Environment Management bill 2018.

On his part, Chairman of House Committee on Environment said the new bill will address shortcomings of the outdated laws.
He promised to ensure that the various views expressed will be taken into consideration when the final bill is passed.
