A Christian group that tagged itself as Christian Youths for Peace in Khana and Gokana, has commended House of Representatives member-elect for Khana and Gokana Federal Constituency, Dum Dekor for his role to reduce blood bath and ensuring victory of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
In a statement, Publicity Secretary of the group, Dimkpa Andy, averred that Dekor was a stabilising force and frontliner for the party such that he was able to canvass votes and campaigned round all the communities.
“ Rt Hon. Dekor delivered the highest number of votes cast in the presidential election in Rivers State and repeated the same feat by coming directly behind Obio/ Akpor in delivering the highest number of votes that sealed the successful re-election of Governor Wike during March 9th elections.”
On what gave the federal lawmaker-elect the edge in the area, it said: “ Dekor has not rested on his oars as he crisscrossed the nooks and crannies of the land consulting and galvanising support for candidature and that of other candidates of his party.”
The same view was expressed by Khana Coordinator  of the group, Nwikasi Kiaka who said Dekor displayed sagacity and focus in his electoral campaigns.
Kiaka said: “ it takes only spirited and  dogged leaders like Dum Dekor to mobilise the people to defend their votes at the collation centre.
Michael Fii for Gokana praised God for bringing peace to Ogoni land as he enjoined all aggrieved bodies to throw away their ill feelings and join in rebuilding Rivers State.
“ Let’s be supportive of the programmes and policies of this administration so we can attract more projects in Ogoni land,” he further declared.
