Cleric Explains Importance Of Easter

Archbishop of Christ Army Church of Nigeria, Most Rev (Dr) Ibiba Siri has stated that the celebration of Easter signifies the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, because He died because of our sin, saying, the resurrection of Jesus Christ has given all the Christians victory. He said in an interview that without His resurrection, there would have been no Christianity.
On why Christians are always performing Holy Sacrament, the communion, before the death of our Lord Jesus Christ, Rev Siri explained that Jesus took the Holy Sacrament with His disciples as the Last Supper before his crucifixion.
The Archbishop said that Christians always performed the communion to mark Easter as a memorial of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
“Easter is very important to Christendom because the resurrection has given us victory, love, peace, faith, protection, among other good things,” he said.
