Wike Eulogises Late Lulu-Briggs …Says He Was Blessing To The Less Privileged
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has described late High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs as a worthy philanthropist who used his wealth to bless the less privileged in the society.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the family of late High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs, last Saturday, in Port Harcourt, Wike said the late high chief made very quality contributions to the development of Rivers State.
Wike was received by the widow of late High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs, Mrs Seniye O. B. Lulu-Briggs.
“God gives and God takes. As we come, so we shall leave. What is important is the contributions that we make to the society.
“God blessed him and he didn’t use the blessing for himself alone. He used the blessing for the society”, he said.
Wike said during his quest to govern Rivers State in 2014/2015, he consulted late High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs, who supported his development blueprint.
He said: “He was a man that helped the less privileged. Everyone attests to the fact that he was a giver.
“I have seen the scholarships that he awards to the people”.
The governor said that as a politician under the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs was committed to the ideals of development.
Wike assured that the Rivers State Government will actively participate in the burial ceremony of the late elder statesman, and urged the family to work hard to maintain the legacy of late High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs.
