Kano Rerun: PDP Candidate Promises Better Health Services

Ahead of the Kano State governorship rerun, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, PDP, Abba Kabir-Yusuf has revealed plans if he is declared winner of the election.
Kabir-Yusuf , who is the son-in-law of PDP chieftain, Rabiu Kwankwaso, yesterday said his government will recruit more medical staff, declare free post-natal services and upgrade hospitals and healthcare centres in the state when elected.
He also promised that non-payment of fees for government-sponsored medical students stranded abroad by Governor Ganduje’s administration will be sorted.
Yusuf in a series of tweet wrote: “Hospitals and other healthcare centres will go through renovations/modernization, and I will declare a free Pre and post-natal health care services all across the state if elected.
“H.E, Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso built the NorthWest University during his time as the governor, I will facilitate the immediate take-off of the Northwest University Teaching Hospital in Dawakin-kudu.
“We must strengthen the healthcare system in Kano state, quick and massive recruitment of medic/paramedic personnel will take effect.
“Also, the non-payment of fees for government-sponsored medical students stranded abroad will be resolved so as to increase the numbers. Insha Allah.”
