Ghanaian Actress Bleaches Skin To Attract Roles In Nollywood

Ghanaian born actress, Ellah Mensah says Nigerian movie producers and directors made her bleach her skin as she spent close to one million naira to change her skin colour so as to be attractive to movie producers. According to her, she did not use bleaching cream, but took injection instead.
In a recent interview Ellah revealed how much she spent on bleaching her skin. She said she had to take an injection which cost about $2000, almost a million naira(N960,225.64). She said;’’ I didn’t use cream to bleach my skin, I took an injection.
She also claimed that she owes nobody an explanation for bleaching her skin as it has helped her to gain recognition in the movie industry.
I thought about it and it is my own skin and thank God I am not going to hurt or kill anybody, so I did it because I love it and partly because of my joy. In another interview, Ellah revealed that Nigerian movie producers and directors prefer giving roles to light skin actresses as they consider them ,more attractive.
