Expert Woos International Support To End Pollution In N’ Delta
An environmental expert and delegate to the on-going United Nations Conference on Environment in Nairobi Kenya, Prince Dan Mbachi, is seeking the support of the International Community to end environmental pollution in Nigeria’s oil rich Niger Delta.
Prince Mbachi who is also the International president of African Global Development for Positive Change Initiative (ADI) said this in a telephone interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt.
He said the environmental pollution in the Niger Delta had defied the efforts of local authorities to find solution to it, hence the need for International support.
The ADI International president who blamed the incidence of the soot on the continuous gas flaring in the Niger Delta region called on the government to come up with legislation that would criminalise gas flaring in the region and other parts of the country.
Mbachi also called for the provision of job opportunities for youths with the view to checking illegal oil bunkering activities in the area.
