Dekor Promises Constituents Effective Representation
The member-elect for Khana/Gokana federal constituency in the March 23 National Assembly elections, Hon. Dumnamene Dekor has said that he will not renege in his promise to provide them quality and effective representation.
Hon. Dekor who was recently declared winner of the area by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the February 23 elections conducted across the country made the promise while fielding questions from newsmen in Port Harcourt.
The former deputy speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly reaffirmed his resolve to also take it up from where his predecessors at the federal legislature stopped.
He said, “By the special grace of God Almighthy, I will strive to attract programmes, projects and good governance to my people,” adding that his victory at the poll was not just his but that of the entire people of Khana and Gokana.
Dekor who is also the immediate past Commissioner for Works in the State assured his constituents that he will participate in all processes of law making, adding that it is only in that way that his people will have a voice in the scheme of things.
“As a federal lawmaker, one of the thigs I will endeavor to do is to bring the problems of our people in National discourse and follow them up to its logical conclusion, “he declared.
While commending the people of Khana and Gokana federal constituency for the confidence and unalloyed trust with their votes, the Rep-elect further charged people of the area and the state at large to also demonstrate same spirit by reelecting the state Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike as well as all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly candidates on March 9 Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
He expressed the optimism that the Governor will be reelected and that all PDP candidates will win the State House of Assembly seats, while urging people of the state to come out en masse to vote for the governor to continue the good works he is doing.
