Allegations Against RIVNESCA, Laughable, False -DG

The Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency (RIVNESCA) says no member or operative of the agency was involved in all the elections held in the state.
Reacting to allegation that some operatives of the agency were involved in electoral violence, RIVNESCA’s Director-General, Dr Uche Mike Chukwuma, described such allegation as laughable, outright falsehood and arrant rubbish.
He wondered how an agency that has not been formally inaugurated could use its operatives or trainees to perpetrate violence rather than prevent crimes as conceptualised in the enabling law that established the agency.
He described those peddling the information as enemies of Rivers State who do not want anything good for the state. “All they want is their selfish interest and protecting their godfathers in Abuja”.
Dr. Chukwuma further explained that the agency would commence full operations after inauguration, adding that RIVNESCA was in court against the Nigerian Army for invading its training camp at Nonwa in Tai Local Government Area.
“There is no way the agency can kit anybody or group for election, adding that “the agency is in court and therefore cannot go against the law”, he declared.
