Both Abia Warriors and Plateau United will meet on Sunday at the Rwan Pam Stadium bearing in mind that they lost their penultimate week fixtures and must get something from this match. In week 10 fixtures that went down across the country two Sundays ago, Plateau United were caged before their home fans by Nigeria Professional Football League new boys, Kada City, 1-0.
The win by the Kaduna side marked Kada City’s first away victory in their maiden campaign in the topflight and condemned the Peace Boys to their third loss in 10 matches.
On their own, Abia Warriors lost 0-2 to Kano Pillars in Kano. The result left the Ochendo Boys ninth on the log with 11 points from nine matches. Incidentally, with 10 matches played, Plateau United are 10th on the same Group B log with 11 points.
Speaking to newsmen, Dele Ajiboye of Plateau United blamed ill-luck for the home loss to Kada City, promising that they would try everything within the rule to make amend when they travel to Umuahia for the match against Abia Warriors.
“Football is like that; we played to win but it did not come that way. I will say that it was hard luck that cost us that game.
“They had their chance and scored it while we could not convert ours,” he said.
