2019 NVBF League Kicks Off, May 2
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) on Wednesday said the National Volleyball Division 2 League would hold from May 2 to May 12 in Ogun.
The federation’s Technical Director, Martins Melandi, in a statement in Lagos said the competition’s date was changed due to several international championships lined up for April.
The competition was initially fixed for March 27 to April 7, but it could not hold due to the challenges of tight schedule faced by the federation.
Melandi said the fact that Nigeria was going to host two international competitions soon further contributed to the development.
Nigeria is hosting the Zone 3 Africa Club Championships and Africa Senior Beach Volleyball Championships in April.
“The Division 2 has been moved to May due to the extension of club registration to March 31 and the hosting of two separate international championships.
“The country will host the Zone 3 Africa Club Championships and Africa Senior Beach Volleyball Championships in April and we have to respect the international body, the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), by shifting our local league.
