We Are Still On Learning Process -Eguma
The Technical Manager of Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma, has said that his team is still in a learning process.
He explained that some of the key players left last season, adding that the new ones in the team are now in a learning process.
Eguma stated this on Wednesday while briefing sports journalists at the Yakubu Gowon stadium, Port Harcourt shortly after his team defeated Remo Stars of Ogun State in the rescheduled match day one fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Rivers State.
“The fact is that we lost some of our important players last season, we are trying to breed the new ones to understand themselves.
The learning process is going on very well within, in no time we will blend and become a better team, Eguma said.
He further explained that they prepared very well knowing that Remo stars was a good team, adding that it was a well deserved win.
The technical manager commended his players for not giving up even when they were one man down.
He thanked God for the victory saying that, they created a lot of chances but could not convert.
“We have the game in our hand, we have the game all though and could not convert our chances but thank God we converted the last chance of the match.
We are still working on converting chances” Eguma admitted. The pride of the state has played four matches winning two at home and drawing two away matches scoring four goals and conceding two goals having a total of eight points. Rivers United is currently on top of the NPFL.
