Sports Editor Sends Forth IT Student
The Group Sports Editor of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of The Tide Newspapers, Gabriel Nwanetanya, yesterday sent forth one of his most committed Industrial Training (IT) student, Femi Akinyemi for his desire to learn and willingness to take up responsibilities.
The Group Sports Editor presented a token of appreciation to encourage him and as well motivate other IT students to cultivate same spirit.
Nwanetanya commended the student (Akinyemi) for his show of friendship, saying that in recent times such level of relationship between members of staff and IT students has not been established in the corporation.
He urged him to continue the gesture demonstrated during his IT at The Tide, saying that should he keep up the good work the sky would be his stepping stone.
Also speaking, the group Businiess Editor of the cooperation, Boye Salau, said that the show of event was witnessed 10 years ago, as it has not happened in the corperation for some time now.
Salau, who described the Sports Desk as a specialist bit commended Akinyemi having made himself outstanding on the desk, saying that the sports desk has singled him out and appreciated his commitment.
“it is commendable and a plus for you have been appreciated and honour ed for your good works”, Boye Salau said.
He urged him to continue in his commitment to responsibilities given him, adding that he will go far with it, and thanked the sports desk for the love and honour done him.
Those in attendance include Tonye Orabere, Nancy Briggs and Kiadum Edookor who are also members of the sports desk.
