Lagos-based Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC Coach, Fidelis Ikechukwu, said yesterday in Lagos that he looked forward to an away win by his team in its crucial midweek Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 7 fixture against Remo Stars FC in Oshogbo.
Tidesports source reports that both teams will face each other in a South-West derby today at Oshogbo Township Stadium.
Remo Stars FC also known as the Sky Blue Stars were currently playing their home matches at Oshogbo where they were banished as a result of sanction following the Match Day 2 violence which left the referee injured.
On the importance of the crucial encounter against the league winning Kennedy Boboye-tutored stars, Ikechukwu told Tidesports that it was time his team picked away points, adding that such victory would thrill and make him leap for joy.
“I want to pick an away point that is when I will be fully happy. It is the joy of every coach to see his team winning away.
“As a coach, that is what I desire for myself now. When I pick those points, you will see me jumping in the air for joy.
“The match against Remo Stars will be a difficult one, but in football anything can happen, they can beat us and likewise we can beat them.
“What I know now is that every point counts in an abridged league, so we need to be up and doing. I hope the players understand this as well. We cannot afford a slip.
“My team is young and evolving, maybe they will gain experience as the league progresses,” he said.
