N’ Delta Activist Predicts Victory For Wike …Lists Expectations

As the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, continues with his campaigns ahead of the forthcoming general elections, elder statesman,. Rev Sokari Soberekon has listed some of the projects he expects the governor to embark on if re-elected for a second term.
Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt, Dr Soberekon said, going by recent forecasts, Governor Wike stood a better chance of winning the election, based on his performances on projects delivery. He however urged him to be more prayerful to God.
Dr Soberekon, who said he was not a partisan politician, said he also expected Governor Wike to provide water by completing the state’s
water project, commuter buses and build the Trans-Kalabari road abandoned by past administrations in the state.
He said the road, if constructed, would improve the lives of the people and bring faster economic development to the area.
Dr Soberekon, who is a stakeholder in the state, further advised the Governor to decentralise agricultural services and activities to coverage rural dwellers’ participation in farming for increased food production.
Dr Soberekon commended the governor for stepping up efforts to ease hardship encountered in accessing pensions and gratuity by retirees and appealed that the welfare of teachers, health and medical workers whom he described as life guards, be given better consideration.
