How Davido Sold Out Concert At 02 Arena, London
Wave making Nigerian Singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has joined the likes of Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Wizikd as he sold out his concert at 02 Arena London. With this new feat, Davido becomes the second African artiste to sell out the 02 Arena, Wikid was the first African artiste to record a sold out show in June 2018.
The ‘Fall’ crooner has since stirred reactions on line following his new feat even as some fans compared him with Wizikid, but Davido in his reaction to the comparism on his twitter page, wrote: “you all can stop arguing now, it is not about who did it first or who did it alone without help, we sha don do am wetin you don do?
Also in a viral video, Davido credited his inspiration to sell out the 02 Arena from his ‘brother’ Wizkid. It was gathered that all the 20,000 seats at the 02 Arena London were bought by fans that had come to see their super star.
It was also noted that ambition is a quality Davido has in generous quantities. Since his arrival on the Nigerian scene, he has made known his ambition and determination to go further than most on lookers predicted that he would go.
His most recent feat by selling out the iconic 02 Arena which only a handful of entertainers have filled is another feather in his already worthy cap. A cursory calculation of his earnings on that night will make eyes water. The pop star easily cleared well over 300 million naira.
As the statistics are clear, no one can dispute this, contrary to his Lagos concert in 2017 where he claimed to have made N500,000 million in one night as Eko Convention Centre could not have taken more than 10,000 people even as it was bursting to the seams and fans reportedly complained of overcrowding in the hall.
Secondly, that show was sponsored by a number of corporate organisations who gave out dozens of seats to their friends and associates. At the Davido Live Show at the 02 Arena tickets were priced at €36.75 (N17,272) each with 12 premium rows sold at €56.75 (N26,672). At the end of the night, he, his manager and show promoters would have cleared whopping €735,000 (N345 million).
For someone who had revealed his intention to retire by the time he is 30 years, he looks to be already set even without his father’s billions.
