CDC Leaders Endorse Wike For Second Term
Leaders of Community Development Committees CDCs, in the 23 local government areas of Rivers State have endorsed the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for a second term in office.
The Coordinator, United Community Development Committees, Mr John Chinedu Onwubuali, announced the endorsement in Port Harcourt recently.
Onwubuali said that the group was excited by the extensive project delivery of Governor Wike .
According to him, for the three years and half that Wike has been Governor, projects have been taken to all parts of the State.
” We are happy with the extensive project delivery of Governor Wike, hence the decision to support his re-election “, he said.
He assured that as community leaders they would not only ensure the victory of Wike at the forthcoming elections, but will sustain support for his second term.
Governor Wike at the meeting called on the community leaders to ensure that elections held in their various communities without disruption by rigging and security agencies.
He charged all CDC leaders to make sure nobody hijacked electoral materials in their various communities.
He said: ” You have to stay on ground to ensure that nobody hijacks electoral materials in any part of the state. The governor reminded them that it was their responsibility to ensure that result of the elections were protected.
” After voting, it is your responsibility to protect your votes . You have to raise teams to escort results to the collation centers.
“Insist on the declaration of results and the filling of result in the appropriate forms. Your results must count and your votes must be respected”, the governor said.
