Wike’s Campaign Train Hits Ikwerre, Today …Buhari’s Failed Promises Put Nigerians In Hardship -Wike
The Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign train will berth at Ikwerre Local Government Area today.
Already last week, the PDP Campaign led by the governor, Chief Nyesom Wike have covered four local government areas of Eleme, Tai, Omuma and Etche last week.
In a statement made available to The Tide and signed by Director of Information and Communications, Barrister Emma okah, the campaign will kick off at 12 noon at St. Martin’s Anglican Church Field, Omagwa.
According to barrister Okah, the campaign in Ikwerre Local Government will confirm the popularity of Chief Wike and the PDP in the area, as over 12 projects have been executed and completed in the Local Government since 2015.
The projects sited and completed by Wike in Ikwerre Local Government Area include: Airport-Obiri Ikwerre Dual Carriage Way, Airport/Ipo/Omademe/Ozuaha Road isiokpo Obele Ibaa-Rumuji Road, Igweuruta/Chokocho Road, General Hospital Isiokpo.
Others are: Nigeria Police Anti-Cultism Station, Elele, Isiokpo Internal roads, Aluu-Rumuekini Roads, Renovation of GSS Ubima and others schools, Aluu/Rukpokwu Road, Omuko/Omuokiri/Omuhuchi Road and Mbodo/Aluu/Uniport Road.
Meanwhile, addressing thousands of supporters in Omuma last Friday, Chief Wike accused President Muhammadu Buhari of somersaulting on all his electoral process made in 2015.
He said, “the new name of APC is All Promises Cancelled.
There is no single promise that has been fulfilled by the APC Federal government. For us in Rivers State, we don’t know if there is a federal government”.
The governor commended Omuma people for their support to the PDP, noting that he as a governor has kept his promises by providing electricity in 19 communities, built a zonal hospital and is currently constructing a 17 kilometre road across several communities.
He assured the people of Omuma more developmental projects during his second term in office.
While praising Hon. Kelechi nwogu for mobilizing Omuma people to collect 90 percent of their permanent voters cards, Governor Wike challenged other local government areas to mobilize their people to collect their voters cards for the 2019 General elections.
The governor reiterated his call for all Rivers PDP leaders to deliver their respective polling units. He said political recognition would be accorded leaders who deliver their units.
Chairman of Rivers State PDP, Bro. Felix Obuah said that Omuma people by their overwhelming outing, have proved their total support for Governor Wike. He urged them to intensify their support during the Presidential and governorship elections.
The PDP Chairman presented party flags to Rivers East Senatorial PDP Candidate, Senator George Sekibo, PDP House of Representatives Candidate for Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency, Ephraim Nwuzi and the PDP Candidate for Omuma State Constituency Hon. Kelechi Nwogu.
Speaking at the rally, PDP Candidate for omuma State Constituency Hon. Kelechi nwogu said the gathering was not a campaign rally, but a victory rally.
He said that Governor Wike has been magnanimous to Omuma people through projects and employment.he said that Omuma people will vote for Wike and PDP.
He said: “We are completely for PDP. We will vote for you and protect our votes. We are ready for the election. We have gone up to 90 percent PVC collection.
“We will show our commitment to PDP by voting out Buhari and voting in Atiku. We will vote all PDP candidates. For Governor Wike, take it for granted, he has won”.
Chairman, PDP in Omuma Local Government Area, Mr. Simeon Nwuju said Governor Wike has passion for the development of Rivers State.
He said Governor Wike will win with a greater margin during the 2019 General elections.
Chairman of Omuma Local Government Area, Hon. Chisom Nwaiwu declared that Omuma people will deliver Governor Wike one hundred percent across the area.
He said the people are happy with the several projects of governor Wike planted in different communities of Omuma.
Rivers State Commissioner of Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Sylvanus Nwankwo said that there is no need for Governor Wike to campaign in the area, because he has lived up to the expectations.
Earlier, the Paramount ruler of Omuma land, HRM King Barr. Onyekachi K. Amaonwu, the Eze Eberi Ugo IX of Ancient Eberi Kingdom had welcomed the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to Omuma land and assured him that there would be peace and harmony during and after the general elections in Omuma land and that Omuma people would give him total support by massively voting for PDP in all the elections because he had kept his promises in Omuma land through executions of projects, across several communities in the area.
The monarch was excited over the turnout of Omuma people and accorded governor Wike victory at the polls.
