The Deputy Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Charles Awortu, says it would be very difficult to defeat PDP in Rivers State, considering the party’s years of developmental landmarks in the state.
Awortu said this yesterday in an interview with newsman after PDP thanks giving service at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt. He said the party had equally changed the developmental face of the state to a standard that can be compared with most international cities in developed countries .
“When we talk of elections, it is people we talk about, all that people living in Rivers State have benefitted from PDP government. Having seen the development from the party, it would be very difficult to defeat the PDP at the polls in the state.
“Despite the rumours of plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig elections in the state, PDP is very optimistic to win the forthcoming election in the state”, Awortu said.
The party Chieftain called on Rivers people to resist any attempt by any political party to rig elections in the state.
