Violence: Wike Cautions Parents Against APC Politicians
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has advised Rivers people to request the All Progressives Congress leaders threatening electoral violence to lead with their children.
Addressing Christian faithful at the Mega Gospel Crusade of the Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta North, last Thursday night, Wike said that parents should not allow unpatriotic politicians put their children in harm’s way.
He said: “Those politicians threatening violence against Rivers State on the account of elections will be the one to be consumed first.
“I advise parents to stop their children from being used by these ungodly politicians. Any politician who is advocating violence should first bring his children”.
The governor urged Rivers people to vote for people who will sustain development in Rivers State.
He pleaded that as the first Anglican to emerge as governor, the church should stand with him.
Wike called on Christians to focus on electing a president who understood the economy, to place the country on the path of development.
In his remarks, Anglican Bishop of Niger Delta North, Rt Rev Wisdom Ihunwo, said because Wike has always supported the church’s programme, hence they will always support him.
He said because Christians have prayed, the elections will be peaceful.
Ihunwo prayed God to srengthen and protect Wike during the elections and grant him his heart desires.
