Yaya Toure will speak to Glasgow Celtic head coach, Brendan Rodgers in coming days about the possibility of him joining the Scottish champions.
According to reports, Celtic have expressed interest in bringing the former Manchester City stalwart to Celtic Park, but Toure said that he will first have words with Rodgers before a decision is made.
Toure is a free agent after parting company with Olympiacos in December, a mere few months after rejoining the club following his exit from City after eight years.
Several Chinese and MLS clubs are said to be interested in the 35-year-old’s services. West Ham United were also among those recently linked with a move for the Ivory Coast national.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Toure said: “Celtic is a great team, but I will speak to Brendan Rodgers there and we will see what happens.”
Toure’s brother, Kolo, is part of Rodgers technical team at Celtic. The Hoops currently occupy top spot in the league, tied on points with Old Firm rivals Rangers.
