A senatorial candidate under the banner of Social Democratic Party (SPD) for Rivers West District, Chief Dighobo Obaghama has promised to complete all abandoned projects in the area if voted into power.
Chief Obaghama in a chat with newsmen at the weekend decried that the senatorial district has one of the highest number of abandoned federal projects in the state.
He regretted that former lawmakers who had represented the district in the National Assembly had failed to use their position to complete some of the projects, or attract new projects to the area.
Among the projects listed by the SDP candidate include, Obom/Otapha Road and bridge, Omelema/Iyak/Lighom, as well as Elole/Egbolom Road in Abua/Oduah.
He also listed Hulk Degema bridge as well as the land reclamation projects in some of riverine communities within the senatorial district.
With an effective representation and promotion of cordial relationship with the executive Obaghama assured that he would attract federal presence and other democratic dividends to the area.
Assuring on the completion of the abandoned N5 billion Omelema/Obom/Otapha Road and bridge, the SDP candidate said the project awarded under the auspices of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs would be pursued to conclusion.
Chief Obaghama said if elected he would ensure that the senatorial district gets effective representation, as he is poised to speak for the people recalling that over the years the area has not had a voice in the National Assembly.
