M I Abaga Goes Into Movie Production
For many years, M.I has assumed the position at the top of the Nigerian hip-hop game, constantly taking it upon himself to always keep his fellow rappers on their toes.
Given that he’s successfully dominated that space, it makes sense that he’d want to expand his horizon and conquer another scene. Well, it looks like he’s found his next project, as he recently announced plans to produce a film this year.
While it’s more commonplace to see Nigerian musicians take a stab at acting on the big screen like Banky W in The Wedding Party and Reminisce in King of Boys, M.I has chosen to work behind the scenes, and we find that choice a lot more interesting.
Announcing this on Instagram , M.I said:
“Boss mode activated this 2019. One of my goals this year that I’m gonna share is I’m going to produce a movie! Okay, now it’s out there! No going back!”
We are guessing his slight cameo in EbonyLife’s 2018 comedy hit, Chief Daddy piqued his interest in filmmaking, and we will definitely be looking out for more information on this new path for Nigeria’s current king of rap.
