The Rivers State Commissioner for Housing, Elder Tasie Chinedu Nwobueze has called on staff of his ministry to always pray for the good of the state, assuring them that 2019 holds better things for the people of the state.
Elder Nwobueze, who made the call during the thanksgiving and dedication service of the Housing Ministry to usher in 2019, said that the ministry’s maiden thanksgiving and dedication service was unique as it would go to herald the beginning of better things in the ministry and the state.
Declaring the purpose of the service, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, ESV Dirokweni Joseph Amiofori, said that the thanking God was for varying reasons and purposes, saying it can be for gifts received from God or for opportunities of being alive, and for sharing in God’s inheritance.
Mr Amiofori said that there was need to always thank God in every situation, especially in an election year like 2019 so that through the thanksgiving of the people, evil plans for the elections would be averted.
The permanent secretary called on the staff of the Ministry to be dedicated and committed to their duties and continue to pray for the peace of the state, thanking the commissioner for giving the ministry an opportunity to begin 2019 with a thanksgiving and dedication service.
In his message at the service, Rev. Emmanuel Olonintuba Arotile, called on the staff of the Ministry to have a paradigm shift in their performance, encouraging them to upgrade themselves so as to bring up initiatives and policies that would lead to a positive transformation of the work place and the state.
The clergyman urged Christians never to be afraid of trouble and challenges but to always make God their refuge.
Rev. Arotile admonished the staff of the Ministry to face challenges head on as he said, what made them who they were was their ability to handle challenges to make them produce positive results.
