Boom Play’s Top Artistes’ Songs Rule Airwaves

The year 2018 has been an amazing one for many Nigerian artistes with local music plays rising above 45 billion with over 583,000 user generating play list globally, a very significant increase when compared to previous years, and with over 38 million users globally. Boom play remains the favourite music streaming services in Africa.
Tope Alabi not only tops the list as the best artiste of 2018 in Nigeria, but also claimed the spot for most album plays. Davido’s “Assurance” claimed the spot for most played song, while mind by DMW is the second most played song in Nigeria.
Mind by DMW, Joromi by Simi and Easy by Reekado Banks also topped as the most treding songs in Nigeria based on the number of times each song appeared in the top 100 Nigerian chart.
Assurance by Davido, single and searching by Yemi Alade and Malice by Tiwa Savage featuring Wizkid claimed the spot as top music videos in Nigeria based on the number of views gannered.
Afropop and Afrofusion was the most listened to genre that dominated 2018, but Gospel music experience a steep increase. With Tope Alabi being the most trending artiste of 2018.
