Bipi Charges Constituents, Others On Pvc Collection
Ahead of next month’s general elections, the Chief Whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Evans Bapakaye Bipi has charged indigenes and residents of the state who were yet to collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) to do so as the general elections are close.
Bipi, who is the member representing Ogu/Bolo constituency in the State legislature also called for peace and reconciliation as citizens of Nigeria would be making another important decisions as to who will lead them in the next four years’
Bipi in a New Year message last Tuesday obtained by The Tide said though last year (2018) came with a lot of challenges, they were overcome, while expressing the hope that this year hold brighter prospects and wished people of the state a prosperous new year.
Bipi said, “The year 2018 no doubt came with daunting challenges, but thank God we (Rivers people) were able to surmount them.
“As we enter the New Year let us be optimistic that the year holds a brighter prospect for us.
“It is my strong believe that this year comes with economic prosperity, financial abundance and improvement of social welfare as preparation intensifies for the conduct of the 2019 general elections which begins next month with the Presidential election.
“I therefore urge those in Rivers State who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC), particularly the people of Ogu/Bolu constituency to do so without delay as the general election is just by the corner,” he stated.
The lawmaker also called on politicians irrespective of party affiliations to shun betrayal, hatred and other anything that is capable of disuniting the people as the elections begins in a matter of months.
He stated, “As we go into another election year, I urge all sons and daughters of Ogu/Bolo, particularly the stakeholders irrespective of our political affiliations to eschew political betrayals, hatred, bitterness and all forms of divisive tendencies which threatens our unity and common goal as a people.”
