2019: Bille Slams APC’s Cole Over Remarks
Bille Chiefs Council has commenced legal process to sue the sacked governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Architect Tonye Cole, over recent remarks accusing the community of bunkering and gun-running.
The Amanyanabo-in-Council and the entire Bille Kingdom were miffed with Cole’s remarks during a radio programme last weekend in Port Harcourt.
In a press conference, Chairman of Bille Kingdom Chief Council, Alabo Ibitamino Minapakama said the sacked governorship candidate of the APC “maliciously portray the calm and peaceful Bille Kingdom in such a bad and negative light.”
The Bille Chiefs Council representative further carpeted Cole for alleging that Bille community habours gun-runners, claiming that the community is devastated by illegal bunkering.
Picking holes in Cole’s claim, Alabo Minapakama said the community hosts 29th Battalim Tactical Headquarters of the Nigerian Army, including a police station, hence, it was baseless for the sacked candidate to claim that the community does not have any security presence.
The traditional ruler stressed that, “One would ask, did Pastor Arch. Cole go into the houses of his acclaimed individuals to see arms and guns or should we believe that the supposed persons with more and guns?
The community therefore, demanded Cole to render apologies to the Amanyanabo-in-Council, chiefs and people of Bille in the print and electronic media within 48 hours of face legal action.
