Ahead of the 2019 general elections, a political group, the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI) has hailed Governor Nyesom Wike for improving the economic well-being of the Oyigbo people in Rivers State, saying the people have no choice than to rally support for his re-election.
President of GDI, Bright Amaehule who stated this during a rally in Oyigbo, headquater of Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state at the weekend, also said people of the Area will also mobilise support across the state for the PDP presidential standard bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to emerge victorious in next year’s poll.
Amaehule specifically said that the capital infrastructure put in place by the governor had reaffirmed his commitment to touch lives and deliver democratic dividends to all parts of the state.
While commending people of the area for their peaceful disposition, he stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government had failed to fulfil its campaign promises made to Nigerians prior to the 2015 general elections.
He further said all the people needed to do was to come out and mobilise themselves with their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to vote out the APC government, as well as re-elect Governor WIke to complete the good works he had started.
“Now what do we owe the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)? We want the PDP to vote our Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to take over the Presidency of the federal republic of Nigeria, as well as vote Governor Nyesom Wike to return to office come 2019.
“The man (Abubakar) that will deliver peace, unity and good governance to our people. What we owe again is that we have to vote the PDP to ensure that His Excellency, Barrister Nyesom Wike assumes office again as governor come May 2019 to complete the good works that he has started.
