Coach Eguma Sure To Win Governor Wike Cup

The Technical Manager of Rivers United football Club of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma has  expressed optimism  that his team would win the on going Governor Wike garden City football competition  at the Sharks football stadium in Port Harcourt.
He explained that, the competition was organised to test new players in the team, as most of the players are new.
Eguma stated this, while briefing sports journalists on Wednesday shortly after his team defeated Excellent FC of Delta  State 3-2 at the Sharks football stadium, Port Harcourt.
He noted that his players played below expectation,  saying that there is need to do more technical work on the new players.
“ Most of the players are new in the team,they need time to understand each other in the team.
The way they played was not what I expected.
In the first game they played better, than today”, Eguma said.
The technical manager of the pride of the state, however said that all the players in team were young, consequently, he does not  expect much from them, but  believe that with time they will  do well.
“I am looking forward to developing young players in the team”,he said.
Also speaking, the Coach of Excellent FC Onome James commended his players for scoring two goals against  a Premiership League side.
He said even though they lost, their mistakes will be corrected in subsequent games nooting that the important thing about the competition is that some  players can gain admission to other club side in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
