Peace has finally returned to Omerelu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Riverse State following the peaceful surrendering of arms by the rival cult groups in the area.
Speaking at the event, Sunday, in the community, the General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyomie warned the boys against the dangers of returning to their past lives.
Ibiyomie said since violence had not paid any group well, that it would be unwise for anyone to indulge in it.
The Man-of-God who admonished them on the need to turn a new leaf noted that only those that fear the Lord will make Heaven.
He also promised them of providing skill acquisition programme in order to help them maintain their lives.
Some community sources who spoke under cover, said that the cult war had brought a level of hardship to them, but expressed hope that with the latest development, that the area would bounce back to life.
They hinted that the arm struggle hindered both economic and social activities as many people relocated to neighouring communities at the heat of the crisis.
A former youth leader in the area, Mr Stanley Aja Amadi, who descried the crisis as strange to his people, said it was orchestrated from the pit of hell and would not longer be experienced in his domain.
He maintained that his place was only known for peace and expressed regrets that the community once experienced crisis.
Amadi while lauding the organizers of the event as well as Pastor Ibiyomie, said it was a welcomed development as they decided to seek God’s face for solution.
The ex-youth leader, also called on the boys to live new life and shun any link with their past records.
According to him, everyone had past records of similar or same with theirs, but added that they must stand their grounds and maintain their new decision.
The Tide learnt that the boys on their own sought the path of peace in an attempt to move the community forward.
It was further learnt the Ibiyomie had invited the warring factions to a dinner in Port-Harcourt to cement his agreement with them.
