Community Cries Out Over Disapperance Of Indigenes

The Ekporo Community in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State has alleged that four of its members were attacked by unknown persons last week in the area.
Chairman of the Ekporo Community Development Committee, Chief Jonanthan Oluka, who said this in an interview with newsmen in Eleme also alleged that three of those attacked have been missing.
He explained that the three indigenes of Ekporo were attacked when they went to the community to harvest their plantain.
Chief Oluka said that the incident has been reported to the police in Eleme.
Meanwhile, the Ekporo CDC chairman has alleged that the community has been turned to a place for illegal refining of petroleum products.
He told newsmen that the community which was deserted in 2013 following crisis with its Ogu neighbours has been destroyed with no building or structures, stressed that the inhabitants were now refugees scattered across Eleme and Tai Local Government Areas.
Chief Oluka stressed the need for Governor Nyesom Wike to implement the decision reached at Government House for the resettlement of Ekporo people.
He also urged for relief materials for the Ekporo refugees.
However when contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni said that he was not aware of the attacked on Ekporo youths.
