Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose has spoken of his hunger for success with Scottish club Hibernian, though he has warned that they must not get ahead of themselves after a strong start to the season.
Ambrose registered an assist at the weekend as Hibs claimed a 3-0 away win over Dundee at Kilmac Stadium. The result took the Edinburgh club to within five points of log leaders Hearts of Midlothian.
“We are aware of who we are and it would be foolish to think that because of our impressive form we would be carried away,” the 29-year-old told Tidesports source.
“In the league we’ll just have to see where we end up, but we have a hunger for success that a team needs to triumph, with a defined system of play and clear ideas.
“We are doing better than last season and the bar has been raised.”
Ambrose added, “We are starting to be a team that will fight for the league title.”
In regards to his assist for Martin Boyle’s goal, the Nigerian explained, “Football is a team game. I am happy that my impact was positively felt by my team.”
Hibs were in League Cup action last night when they played host to Aberdeen.
