Rivers West Insists On Wike’s Re-Election
The people of Rivers West Senatorial District last Monday passed a confidence vote on the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike and endorsed him for a second term in office.
A mammoth crowd of youths, women, traditional rulers and politicians from the eight local government areas that make up the senatorial district made the resolution at a mega rally held at Ahoada in support of Governor Wike’s 2019 re- election.
The political leader of the district, Chief Ferdy Alabraba, said the resolution was predicated on the massive development engendered by the Wike administration which touches most parts of the eight local government areas in the senatorial zone.
” In view of the good works of Governor Wike, we have resolved to overwhelmingly vote him again in 2019″, Alabraba said.
He described Wike as an exceptional leader who has driven people-oriented projects to the nooks and crannies of Rivers West Senatorial district.
Also speaking, a former Minister of Sports, Dr Tammy Danagogo , said apart from making the various local government areas to benefit massively from projects, Wike’s administration has given several appointments to sons and daughters of the area more than any administration in the history of the state.
The former Minister stated that the governor has proven to the senatorial district that anyone anyone he is one man that can stand with at any circumstance.
Danagogo further said that Wike was the first Governor to oppose cattle colony and the anti- people bill on the waterways.
He stressed that the people of Rivers West are confident that Wike would stand by them and defend their cause at all times.
The Eze Ekpeye Logbo , Eze Robinson O. Robinson, who spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers of the Rivers West Senatorial District said: ” the politicians have spoken, the elders have spoken, the women and youths have spoken, we the traditional rulers are going to endorse all that our children have said.
” We endorse Governor Wike with Eagle Feather because Eagle is the king of all flying birds.
In his response, Wike said that PDP would win in the state come 2019 in honour of the late Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice of Rivers State, Emmanuel Aguma .
Reacting to the call on him by the people to recontest in 2019, the Governor thanked them for their confidence and strong support to his administration and promised to respond to their request very soon.
