Police Begin Manhunt For Killers Of Youth Leader …As Mother Of Two Dies Of Suffocation

The Police in Rivers State says they have begun a manhunt for the hoodlums who killed a youth leader in Nkpor, Rumuolumeni, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesman of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident to our reporter on telephone yesterday.
Omoni said “Investigation is ongoing. We (the police) had stepped up investigation into the killing and believe that soon we will apprehend those behind the wicked act.
Recalled that unknown gunmen suspected to be cultists had shot and killed one Wobo Wabara, 36, who was the deputy leader of the disbanded Rumuolumeni Vigilante.
He was reportedly shot about 10pm at the Okemini Junction on his way home.
Younger brother of late Wobo known as Darlington while narrating what led to his brother’s demise said,”We heard gunshots at the Okomini Junction so we locked the gates and ran inside the house.
“Few minutes later, someone began knocking on the gate. We came outside and he told us they have shot my brother.
“We ran to the junction and saw him lying on the ground. We carried him into the car and conveyed him to the clinic. It was at the clinic that the doctor confirmed that he was dead. So, we took his body and deposited it at the mortuary.
“We have reported the matter to the law enforcement agents and we are hopeful that they will fish out the killers and make them to face justice.
Darlington stated that his elder brother left behind a wife, four children and both parents
In a seperate development, a mother of two was found dead in her one-bedroom apartment following a fire outbreak reportedly caused by a candle flame in Rumuosi, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, last Friday.
