PH Club To Host Tonye Harry Memorial Tennis Tourney

Port Harcourt Club 1928, says plans are on top gear to organise Rt.Hon. Tonye Harry memorial tennis tournament, October, this year.
Captain of tennis section of the Club, Fidel Cocodia revealed this in an interview with sports journalists in Port Harcourt, at the weekend.
Late Rt. Hon. Tonye Harry was the speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, member of Port Harcourt Club Tennis Section. He has tennis academy, players in his academy often represent the state in any tennis tournament.
Until his death he was a good tennis player and  have passion to develop tennis to an enviable height in the state.
Cocodia explained that the tournament is to immortalise Rt. Hon. Harry who has  contributed immensely to the development of tennis both in and out the club when he was alive.
“ This tournament will be exclusive for members, but we are also looking forward to also organise tournament that will incorporate other people, of course you and I know that many people benefitted from Harry’s tennis foundation “ Cocodia said.
On the issue of hosting international tennis tournament, the captain said for now they cannot host such competition because they do not have facilities.
