‘My Ambition Is To Expose Players To Limelight’
Rocks Football Club of Trans Amadi, Abio/Akpor Local Government Area Rivers State says it is up to discover and groom players to become national and international stars.
The head coach, Ojeaglu Ndubuisi said this last weekend in an exclusive interview with Tidesports shortly after a training session at the Comprehensive Secondary School football field Oginigba, Port Harcourt.
He stated that his reason to form a football club was to discover hidden talents and expose them to limelight, adding that a lot of potential at the grassroots is begging for exposure.
“Daluba Coxmos, who played in night jet, league one, in the Ghana Football League was product of my club”, he said.
Ndubuisi explained that he decided to groom them together because a lot of them have no financial back-up, adding that since he took over as a coach, his club has produced talented players.
The head coach of Rocks FC appealed to well-meaning individuals, companies and cooperate bodies to assist the club, adding that, if they got national and international exposure, they will do well in the game.
“My aim is to groom them to become world-class footballers”, he stated.
According to him, if given adequate sponsor supports, they (players) will achieve their dream, adding that, he has been in coaching for the past seven years, saying that training material has been very difficult for the club.
“I used my own money in taking care of the club because of the love I have on the game”, he explained.
Also speaking, captain of the club, Uko Nsikan stated that, if sponsored, the players are ready to put extra time in their work for them to achieve goal in the game.
He thanked his coach, Ojeaglu Ndubuisi, for giving them more knowledge of the game adding that, they would not relent in giving back the support for the growth of the club.
“Some of the players who gained admission in travelling to Europe on training missed their flight due to lack of sponsorship”, the captain explained.
