Monarch Charges Conflict Resolution Committee On Peace
The Nyenwe-Ali, Egbeda/Ubimini communities in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Christopher Didia, has set up a Resolution of Conflict and Project Committee and charged same to ensure lasting peace in the area.
Eze Didia, who gave the charge to the committee members during its inauguration at his palace in Egbeda at the weekend, expressed regrets that youths in Egbeda had taken to violence instead of preparing themselves for adulthood.
The 2nd class traditional ruler urged all and sundry to join hands to bring development to the community.
He also called on the warring cult groups to drop their guns and embrace peace for the development of their community.
Eze Didia extolled the members of the committee for volunteering to make peace in the community and urged them to do justice to all.
The Royal Highness noted that the committee would also oversee projects, attract projects and dialogue with firms with the aim of making Egbeda a better community.
Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr Chibuzor Ogbuji, thanked the royal highness for the honour done and the confidence reposed in them.
Mr Ogbuji remarked that the committee would do its best in the service of the community.
He explained that the committee would work assiduously and concertedly to turn around Egbeda community.
The chairman expressed belief in the ability of the committee to stop the carnage in the community.
