Badminton Open Championship: Team Rivers Begins Screening Exercise

The head coach of Badminton in Rivers State, Rafui Hamzat said that the on-going screening exercise in the association is to discover the best players among the Badminton players that will represent the state in the forth coming tournament.
He stated this last weekend in an exclusive interview with Tidesports after a training session at Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
Hamzat, popularly called Ralph, explained that the association would not leave any stone unturned in his search for the best players of the game in the state.
According to him, the screening is to select players who will represent the state in the second Golden Star Badminton open championships from 28th August to 1st September, 2018, in Katsina State and 19th National Sports Festival coming up 6th to 17th December 2018.
“We are screening to get the best among the players to make the state proud in the game”, he explained.
He disclosed that the association members had been working toward some programmes to keep the player usefully engaged.
Hamzat called on all the Badminton players in the state for the screening process, adding that it is an open one where all the ranking players would be screened according to the procedure.
