2019 Polls Must Be Widely Acceptable -Kattey
As the political activities gather momentum for the 2019 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the political class have been charged to ensure that the forth-coming general elections conform to globally acceptable standards.
Renowned Christian cleric and outgoing Arch-Bishop, Province of Niger Delta, Anglican Communion, Most Rev Ignatius Kattey made the call at a press briefing at the St Paul’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, last Monday.
This is as the priest appealed to the security agencies and other relevant agencies to be neutral in the discharge of their duties during the elections, noting that INEC should conduct same without bias.
The cleric explained that the political atmosphere across the country was becoming tensed following unfolding events in the last few months, which he said has made the struggle for the political space and power across the country quite disturbing.
